Newborn Sessions with Lynne Kelly Photography

Every parent knows that these early moments pass in the blink of an eye. The little things you treasure so much, the smell of your baby’s skin, the feel of his or her little body cuddled up against yours. They become distant memories as your children quickly grow and change.

I would love to be there at the beginning and at special milestone times to capture this beauty and innocence with professional photography that you and your loved ones will treasure.

Thank you for choosing Lynne Kelly Photography

There is nothing more amazing than welcoming your newborn baby into the world. Their teeny tiny fingers & toes, their precious, soft skin and the absolute certainty that you will love like you never have before. Your life will never be the same.

These precious moments will pass so quickly and it will be a privilege to preserve these special moments and milestones for you to remember forever.

Thank you for choosing Lynne Kelly Photography

Once baby is here, you will have a lot on your mind and choosing your photographer might not be on top of your list of things to do.

For this reason, It is best that you book your newborn session in good time before your due date. Ideally the session should be before the baby is two weeks old - they are less likely to be fussy, they sleep deeper and are less likely to be affected by baby acne, making it more likely that you will get the results you want.

Think of your baby as the work of art that he or she is. I will use props like hats, headbands, baskets and bowls etc. and carefully place your baby in such a way that makes him or her look perfect. Expect these sessions to take a while; it can take 3 or 4 hours to get through a session, allowing for feeds and transitions between poses etc.

It takes patience but the end result is so worth the while.

It’s difficult to predict when baby will want to eat and sleep during those first few weeks, but ideally should be fed, winded and sleepy before the session begins. Sleeping babies produce the best photographs, so try to arrive early to feed and wind before your session begins.

If you have any treasured blankets, soft toys or props, bring them with you. Avoid any new lotions and creams on that day to reduce the risk of sudden allergic reaction during the shoot and if you have a pacifier, bring it along as they help keep baby calm during posing transitions.

Why should I hire a professional Photographer?

Without a doubt your baby will have been papped by everyone since the moment they were born.

But photography is an art form and professional photographers have skills, experience and training with artistic vision which can make the difference between a cute picture and a breathtaking heirloom.

You have a lot to worry about during this busy time in your life and my experience working with newborns ensures that your experience will be as stress-free as possible for both you and your baby.

Information

Understandably, baby’s shoot could be stressful for you; baby might not want to co-operate and you might worry about watching someone else handle and pose your baby.  But relax and have patience, if you are tense, your baby might sense that and have trouble going into that deep sleep we’d like. So take a deep breath, think calming thoughts and let me take your baby’s lead. I am very experienced and will always put baby’s needs first. I am happy to take all the time needed to do this and please be assured that your baby safety and yours and baby’s comfort are my number one priority.
